Trekking boots by Salewa for men, comfortable and versatile. They are from the Mountain Trainer range and are designed for long excursions in the mountains. They include Bilight in the mid−sole giving an ergonomic fit cushioning obtaining more security in each step. The Flex collar also helps the natural movement of the ankle making descents more comfortable.
They offer optimum comfort thanks to the 3F System combining flexibility in the ankle, support in the heel and reduces the formation of blisters. The Vibram® WTC sole provides exceptional grip and is very hardwearing.
For complete protection a waterproof and breathable GORE−TEX® Performance Comfort membrane has been incorporated to guarantee perfect insulation from wind and rain.

Great fitting boot, supportive and comfortable. Grippy, stable sole. Just let down by the lack of waterproofing.
I was extremely happy with this boot, until I wore them out on a particularly wet day out on the Brecon Beacons and the water just flooded in, soaking wet feet and still miles to hike, it really was a miserable day out on the mountain.
I wouldn't mind so much if they were very old and worn out, with the uppers or soles split, cracked etc. But they have actually had very little wear since purchase (literally a hand full of short hikes), as they are not my main mountain boots and still appear as in almost new condition.
I don't know whether I was just very unlucky with this particular pair, or if the Gore-Tex upper has its limits! But I do know that it is just not good enough at this price point.
