Product Description

One of the lightest single ropes on the market, the Beal Opera 8.5mm Unicore Golden Dry weighs in at a mere 48g per meter and its 8.5mm diameter reflects the brand's use of the most advanced technology.

The Opera boasts the latest UNICORE technology, which has, until now, been reserved for semi-static ropes. Beal has managed to bond together the sheath and the core so that there's no movement between the two and the sheath even stays in place if cut. Dynamic ropes with UNICORE technology swell less, are more flexible and durable and are easier to handle. The sheath is smoother than a classic rope and this reduces friction against the carabiner and facilitates rope recovery for clipping in. The result, is that climbers will feel as if they're using a much thinner and lighter rope that conserves all the advantages of a rope with a wider diameter.

Golden Dry treatment features all the same treatment characteristics of the Dry Cover but has an extra treatment on each filament of the inner core strands, which further enhances its resistance to water. This makes it the ideal choice for use in more extreme winter conditions, helping to prevent water absorption and ropes icing up. The Golden Dry treatment will therefore enhance the rope handling characteristics in wet/cold conditions and will also extend the lifespan of the rope.

The Opera 8.5mm also has a triple rating: as a single, half and twin rope. This is something that will greatly appeal to expert climbers and mountaineers who prioritise lightweight, smooth running ropes and, of course, safety. It is also an excellent choice for all those looking for a highly versatile rope for use on trad, mixed or snow climbs.

UIAA certified for water-repellency and with Thermo Fluid technology, which uses infrared treatment to reinforce the sheath fibers and achieve a more compact and manageable rope.

Each Beal rope has an Individual Identifcation Number which appears at the end and on the individual ID card. This guarantees its traceability.
